There’s few things in life I love more than hosting a dinner party for friends & family. Last weekend my sister created the perfect, intimate, dinner experience in celebration of a friend’s birthday. My brother-in-law is a wonderful cook and made his specialty, a shrimp boil. Here’s some ways to fancy-up your next dinner party:
Tablescape
The centerpiece is the star of the show. My sister bought this beautiful wooden candle holder from Etsy. It holds roughly 20 candle sticks which were purchased at Hobby Lobby. She stuck with mostly white (they are the most affordable) and added a few blue and beige candles in various lengths to create some dimension. Keeping it simple is the key here. You will need plenty of space for glassware, food and drinks!
Cloth Napkins & Glassware
Life is short, use the nice dishes! I always laugh at people who “save” their glassware for fancy occasions. Hosting for anyone is an occasion in my opinion! Glassware and cloth napkins create pretty place settings for each guest.
We found these cute white tins from Hobby Lobby to use as serving bowls so each couple could have their own Covid-friendly shrimp boil experience.
Fresh Flowers
This is a no-brainer for me! To say I love fresh flowers is such an understatement. It gives the table life, adds color, and softens the overall look of your table. I always get my flowers at the local Costco or Trader Joe’s!
Have fun creating your dinner party tablescape! And as always, if you have other tips or questions, leave a comment below!
